Courses and Seminars
The Chair of Economic History offers courses for both Bachelor and Master/Doctoral students.
For Bachelor students: the "Geography and Technology in Economic History" course takes place most winter semesters (in German, also suitable for those taking Economics as a minor). In the summer semester, we offer "Culture and Institutions in Economic History" (in English, only for students with a good knowledge of econometrics).
The theme for our seminars (Schwerpunktseminar) are announced on LRZ. Previous seminars have included "Media Economics" and "Country Studies in Economic History". Seminar papers can be written in German or in English.
If you have taken a seminar at the Chair for Economic History you are welcome to write your Bachelor thesis under our supervision. You can find more information here.
We offer the core course "Empirical Economics I" for Bachelor students in rotation with other Chairs.
For Master and Doctoral students: we offer a course on "Advanced Economic History" every winter semester. We jointly organise the "Empirical Economics Seminar".
Please be aware that changes to the schedule might be made at any time (for example additional courses)
